an another side(anotherside的简单介绍)
other及其变化形式在初中教材中多次出现,而且它的变化形式很多,有以下几种：the other,others,the others,another 等.它们的用法现归纳如下；
1.other可作形容词或代词,做形容词时,意思是“别的,其他”,泛指“其他的（人或物）”.如：
Do you have any other question(s)?
Ask some other people.
问问别人吧!
Put it in your other hand.
把它放在你另一只手里.
2.the other指两个人或物中的一个时,只能用the other,不能用another,此时的other作代词.如：
He has two daughters.One is a nurse,the other is a worker.
他有两个女儿,一个是护士,另一个是工人.
the other后可加单数名词,也可加复数名词,此时的other作形容词.如：
On the other side of the street,there is a tall tree.
在街道的另一边,有一棵大树.
Mary is much taller than the other girls.
玛丽比其他的女孩高得多.
He lives on the other side of the river.
他住在河的对岸.
3.others是other的复数形式,泛指“另外几个”,“其余的”.在句中可作主语、宾语.如：
Some of us like singing and dancing,others go in for sports.
我们一些人喜欢唱歌和跳舞,其余的从事体育活动.
Give me some others,please.
请给我别的东西吧!
There are no others.
没有别的了.
4.the others意思是“其他东西,其余的人”.特指某一范围内的“其他的（人或物）”.是the other的复数形式.如：
Two boys will go to the zoo,and the others will stay at home.
两个男孩将去动物园,其余的留在家里.
the others=the other +复数名词,这在第2条中已经有所介绍.
5.another=an+ other,既可作形容词,也可作代词,只能用于三个或更多的人或物,泛指同类事物中的三者或三者以上的“另一个”,只能代替或修饰单数可数名词.如：
I don’t like this one.Please show me another.
我不喜欢这一个,请给我看看另一个.
I have three daughters.One is a nurse,another is a teacher and another is a worker.
我有三个女儿.一个是护士,另一个是教师,还有一个是工人.
else表示“另外的”表示“除此之外 ,还有”,相当于besides,如：

"Other" 的意思确实是 "其他的"。但是，在某些上下文中，"other" 还可以表示 "另一边的" 或 "对面的" 的意思。例如：

【1】、one和the other的对应
这里所指的事物必须是只有两种类型。也就是总数是2。你给出的例子中，马路的另一边，因为马路只有两边，所以应该用the other side。在使用one/the other的时候，如果叙述中有隐含或者不必提及其中一个，可以直接用the other，没有语法规则规定必须one和the other必须同时出现一个句子中。

one/the other已经解释过了，用在只分两类的事物叙述和指代中
another对与所叙述的事物的种类不加以限制，一般由于不确定也不必涉及，所以用another， 但是another一般意义上说，叙述对象会大于两个
比如：There is another guy responsible?还牵涉了另一个人？
这里牵涉的人总数不可能预先知道，问话的人发问就是对此进行询问，使用的时候就不可以用the other。如果问句变成这样：Where is the other guy reponsible?意思就是：某事牵涉了两个人，问另外一个人的行踪。
any other的用法也是对所叙述的事物的总数不确定，any other可以跟单数也可以跟复数。但复数较为多见。例如：Shanghai is bigger than any other cities in China. any other是单独使用的。本身就表示了一种比较，所以常用在比较中。
others用在some/（the）others的搭配中。形同one/the other。由于other本身有代词的词性，所以others可以单独使用，用作代词。
